Ingredientes para 8 pessoas:
- 1 kg sweet potatoes
- 0.5 kg wheat flour
- 400 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 400 g candied and dried fruit
- 100 ml orange juice
- 50 ml port wine
- cinnamon and fennel to taste
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Method of preparation:
- Cook the sweet potatoes in salted water. Drain and mash.
- Mix the eggs with the sugar, butter, orange juice, port wine, mashed potatoes and flour.
- Knead everything well. Finally, add the candied fruit and chopped nuts and mix well.
- Leave to rest for half an hour.
- Sprinkle a baking tray with flour and shape the mixture into small bread-like balls. Bake in the oven at 180°C for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove and leave to cool.
